Day 1 : Marrakech – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Today after picking you up at your hotel in Marrakech and driving towards Ouarzazate through the Tizi ‘n’ Tichka pass at 2260 m over the High Atlas Mountains, you will enjoy the landscapes while passing through Berber villages. You will also have the chance to explore the process of producing the argan oil by Berber women in their cooperative. We will visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is the largest Kasbah in Morocco, and it is a UNESCO historical site. We will have lunch at the Kasbah before we continue to Dades valley via Ouarzazate, called the Hollywood of Africa. We will pass along the Road of the thousand Kasbahs, before stopping at Kalaat Mgouna which is well-known for roses and its annual festival during May. We will spend this night in the heart of the Dades Gorge in local riad with dinner and breakfast.
Day 2 : Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga dunes & Camel trekking
After breakfast in the riad, we’ll drive through the valley to see rock formation process called “the monkey toes”. Leaving the Dades valley towards Tinghir and the Todra valley we’ll see the panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking the valley. Arriving at the Gorge you’ll walk under the 300 m high red cliff, where many Rock-climbers come to practice their favorite sport. We will continue to Erfoud and Rissani where we’ll have lunch and then leave for the village of Merzouga, where your camel will be waiting for you. You’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea and a desert scarf before your camel-ride starts heading into the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi, guided by an experienced camel guide of course. Here you will spend your first night under the stars, or if you prefer, in a traditional Berber nomad tent
Day 3 : Merzouga – Draa Valley – Marrakech
Your camel guide will wake you up to admire the beauty of the splendid sunrise, then you’ll peacefully camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga appreciating the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes – changing with the light as the Day progresses. Arriving back in Merzouga and after breakfast and hot shower in the guesthouse, we’ll leave for Ouarzazate passing by the famous Draa valley-full of palm-trees. We stop for lunch in the way and continue to Marrakech over the Tizi ‘n’ Tichka pass again and end of the tour.
